I had the pleasure of growing up in a time when hot rods were loud, gas was fairly cheap and there were artists sharing some of the coolest forms of fun, of any time. One of my favorite artists was Big Daddy Ed Roth. His cartoonish monsters were put together with big, bad motors and street rods of every style.
Recently, I had a customer, Jason Owens, in Fort Lauderdale share some of his talents with me. He is an awesome player of this crazy game of golf, but also shares his talent for drawing in the tattoo art he lays on customers' skins. When he and I began talking thru some of his early builds, he learned that I was a nut for the 70's art and hot rod-related goodies. His gift to me was the art that you see on this new head cover design and we are both beyond fired up to see it come to fruition.
What you are seeing is not only the first time we have taken a hand-drawn picture and with EP Headcovers help, walk it thru to become a very cool head cover. But, it is also the first time that I have used the MANN•MADE label on anything besides a true handmade putter or MA/66-RATTLER model. For those reasons, along with the raw cool-as-all-get-out stitching that become this monster, these covers will be ones that you can hang onto and enjoy the jealous looks you get in years to come. You will hear, "I can't believe you got one of the full-color versions." I can almost guarantee it.
The first 50 are all exactly as you see in the pictures, below. I am doing a limited number of the full-color monster, but the base color of the cover may change on future batches. The full-color will be stopped at 200 or 250 covers, I have not decided upon the exact number. The color of the cover will easily tell which run your cover came from, when you look back at this purchase.
Don't hesitate, if you love what you see. There are only 40 going on the site for sale and I don't expect them to last very long.
Have some fun with the new design and watch for a few other items to wear this Retro-Monster, with pride.
