SOLD to a lucky customer in Florida.
This was the very first putter that I started when the invite was extended for me to join the Hot Stix team. I was invited to bring my work to the Hot Stix location in Scottsdale, AZ and it has been an amazing period of growth and exposure.
The BRASSIE is milled 100% by hand on a Bridgeport that has seen use by some of the best craftsmen in the world of golf. The use of CNC will not be found on this little gold-hued gem.
My choice to use brass gives the putter very soft feel, while also allowing for a 350 gram putter head to be shaped in ways that would result in an overly light putter, if milled from 1018 CR Steel or 303 SS. Also, the feel of the brass will win you over, from the very first time you roll a ball. I grew up with a Bullseye in my bag and when I had the opportunity to create putters using the same material that John Reuter, Jr used, I found out instantly how much I missed that feel.
The Notch'd design was initially, a tribute to the current putters that bear the Hot Stix logo and name. Their current design is a wide body, similar to this BRASSIE, also with the cut-out between the bumpers. Their putters were milled using 1018 CR Steel and were of very high quality. I knew that I had to maintain that integrity in order for the putter to live up to its stamping.
Stamping in the cavity finds the Hot Stix logo dancing thru the shallow circles and also “MANN-MADE” is in block letters, stamped on the sole. The bumpers are open for stamping requests from the customer, as is the sole, to a limited extent. Colors for paint fill will also be chosen by the customer and can run a very wide range. I have built up a very vast color supply and will do my best to fill any request.
The putter will be cut to length for the customer and also set to loft/lie specs, as part of the purchase. Grip is a MannKrafted Logo'd PURE Classic, MidSize or BigDog grip and this is as close to a 100% Arizona-made putter as a person can get.
HOT STIX has been very good to MannKrafted and by making this putter available for special order, it is my way of putting the word out that if you are in Scottsdale, you need to stop by Hot Stix and check it out.
