The highlight of the Havasu is the hand milled hosel that mounts on the sloping side of an extended pintail section of the base Mann Krafted head shape. I create each handmade hosel from raw carbon steel or 303 Stainless Steel, depending upon the customer’s choice of material.
The Havasu hosel is shaped to resemble a hosel that is normally reserved for a heel-shafted mallet, but it looks very much at home sitting at the rear of this head.
A slight toe-heavy taper of the flange gives this putter a very unique look, from address, as well. It allows the balance of the head to remain very centered on the face, yet lets the golfer see the majority of his putter, while standing above the ball.
Weight range on the Havasu runs from the high 330 gram range all the way to as much as 380 grams, though it is rare to see one that heavy. Finish options can also determine the choice of metals for the hosel. If a person likes the look of the Raw Torch’d finish, we can do the SS hosel, like the sample pictures show and really set-off the neck’s colors and shape.
All of my base heads are done in 1018 Carbon Steel, as of early 2010. The Raw Torch’d finish can create any look from deep gold, to rainbows of gold, purple and blue, to a rich Sapphire Blue that calls to the players appreciation of true beauty.
The Havasu is a serious putter that has won its share of fans, since its original inception. If you like a putter that has heft, style and will turn heads every time the cover comes off, perhaps the Havasu is the one for you. |
